Dear Marquette family,

Since the health of our students and families is of the utmost concern to us, we have been reviewing the ever-changing health crisis in our country and trying to respond appropriately.  Reviewing proper hygiene and maintaining a healthy and clean environment, unfortunately, has not been sufficient to stop the spread of the virus.  Governor Pritzker has mandated that all public and private schools in Illinois should remain closed until April 8.  We, along with all Illinoisans, are praying that this will curb the spread of the coronavirus/COVID-19.

Marquette Manor Baptist Academy and Preschool will be ready to reopen Wednesday, April 8, if the government will allow.  We are planning to move ahead with distance learning on Monday, April 6, in case the government extends the school closures.  We will only be able to do distance learning for our K5 - 12th grade students.  We will be communicating all plans through our Sycamore school website.  If you need login information for Sycamore, please contact the Academy office.

Unfortunately, IACS tournaments have been canceled for the remainder of the year.  We do not yet know what will happen to the rest of our normally scheduled events in April, but we are anticipating a number of other events.  We would like to reschedule some activities, but for the present, we must contantly reevaluate the situation.  Please pray that we would have wisdom on how to best continue the education of our students.

I am reminded of the chapel message that our students heard on March 12th from our guest speaker, Pastor Harrison of Grace Baptist Church in Lockport.  Preaching from II Timothy 1:7, he reminded us that God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.  As Christians, God wants us to remember:

1.      His power to save, heal, sustain and supply for His children

2.      His love in all circumstances and desire for our best

3.      The sound mind that rests securely in Him.

The message was timely because our ultimate trust must be in the Lord, and it is to Him that we cry out for protection.

We will continue to communicate by email so please continue to check for updates.
